In this webinar, leading experts in the field of parks and recreation discuss innovative staff training approaches and explore important professional development principles that undergird such approaches. The original session was interactive, and participants were asked to help innovate new approaches to professional development.

About the Presenter

Stephen Wolter is the Executive Director of the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands, Indiana University. He has more than thirty-five years of experience in training and educating students and professionals in the parks, recreation, and public lands field. His parks management experience includes facilities management, urban and regional planning, recreation, sports, and tourism. He has served as project manager in the development of master and strategic plans, needs assessments, and training development plans. While directing the Eppley Institute, Steve also teaches leadership, philanthropy, planning, public policy, and information technology classes in his role as Assistant Professor at Indiana University, Bloomington.

Jeff Dillon is currently the Capital Investment Manager for the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department. Jeff received a bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation Administration from Indiana University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. His career spans more than three decades and includes work at Denali National Park, Katmai National Park, the Alaska State Park System, and the City of Boulder’s Parks and Recreation Department.
