Before attending this workshop, participants will complete a series of e-courses and assignments contained in the following two online certificates: • •

In addition, students will review their department’s past master plans and develop a list of past goals and objectives.

Prep work:

Prior to the training event, the participants’ progress through the two certificate programs will be monitored.

Class description:

The components of this training include a variety of activities, including facilitated discussion and group work that will guide the participants in creating tangible, usable work products and tools for use in their master planning process. The course will discuss the main topics found in most master plans, provide research guidance, review level of service calculations, and provide an overview of the numerous ways to involve the public.

  • Identify essential stakeholders for their agency and master planning process
  • Arrange for the use of public participation tools
  • Develop goals and objectives for their organization’s master plan
