About
A specific step in the Asset Management Process is creating an inventory of all your assets in order to determine the importance of those assets and their condition using a balanced scorecard approach. The course will introduce you to the Inventory phase of the Asset Management Process. It will show you how to compile an accurate inventory of your park or agency’s assets. In addition, it will demonstrate how to create an Asset Priority Index (API) and a Facility Condition Index (FCI), which will help you determine your facility management priorities by examining the relationship between them.
Course Schedule
This course is part of the Facility Management Certificate program although a student may take the course individually without enrolling in the Verified Online Facility Management Certificate. The course culminates with a multiple choice assessment quiz and an assigned writing piece that will be added to your Facility Management Certificate program portfolio. Participants who successfully complete all elements of the program will receive proof of completion of the program. Additionally, participants who enroll in the certificate program will receive individual feedback via electronic means from course Instructors.
If you are taking the course outside of the certificate program, you will be assessed only via the multiple choice quiz. You are welcome to work on the portfolio assignment, but you will not be able to upload your assignment for expert review.
This course is self-paced, allowing learners the flexibility to complete the course as quickly or slowly as they need. While exploring course content, learners can investigate topics in greater detail through enrichment activities that link to real-world examples, original source materials, and policy documents.
