About
The Asset Priority Index (API) measures how closely each park asset is aligned to the National Park Service mission and the park's mission. This score helps managers decide which assets should be retained and at what level they should be maintained. In this course, you will examine the API Worksheet, consider why the NPS uses API, and practice applying API criteria to specific assets.

Be able to:
- Describe the purpose of API.
- List three ways that the National Park Service uses API.
- Identify the purpose of each tab in the API Worksheet website.
- Correctly apply the criteria in the API Worksheet for a given asset.
- Explain why all divisions should take part in determining API.
- Describe at least two techniques that facilitate rescoring assets’ APIs.
