About the Webcast

Trees are as important as ever in our growing cities – the need to provide large canopied shade trees to cool cities is important. Providing adequate root volumes to allow large healthy trees to grow without infrastructure conflicts is also important.

This webinar will identify strategies to create large canopied trees in urban areas. Examples from Canada and the USA will be discussed and examined, as well as local examples of projects in Sydney and Broadmeadows that showcase different methods to achieve tree growth and root volumes. Some of the systems include water treatment, allowing trees to actively cool cities. This presentation will discuss the need for healthy strong growing trees in a time of changing climates, and what the adequate root volumes might be to grow healthy urban trees.
