Webinar Description: Partners from the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association, and WUP members from North America and Europe will host an exploration of winter recreation programming on how we can better keep our colder weather communities active and engaged. Winter can be a challenging time for not only citizens but professionals working to advocate for the winter use of parks, public spaces, and open spaces. Discover innovative public space development, programming, design and management from cities across North America and the World!
Learning Objectives
After attending this webinar, participants should be able to:
- Be familiar with the basic principles of winter city design and how they lead to better year-round park design and use.
- Understand the importance of promoting outdoor winter activities and amenities.
- Come away with an introduction to GBA+ lenses and their importance in park design, maintenance, and programming.
